In this video we look at two examples of how to round a whole number to the nearest billion. To round a whole number to a specific place, we find the digit in the round off place, move one digit to the right, and then follow this rule:

if the digit is four or less, leave the digit in the round off place as is, and replace every digit that follows with a zero.

If the digit is five or greater, add one to the digit in the round off place, and replace every digit that follows with a zero.
