TOP 10 TIPS https://goo.gl/bRejwR/ (GET ON THE WEBINARS, get the TIPS!)

CO2 is great, but it has to be done with caution to avoid PH swings. I don't use it on any of my tanks. Algae on plants is typically from excess nutrients and light. You can help reduce both with duckweed (Anubias will enjoy the shade and the duckweed will help keep algae off the plants).

Welcome to Dustin's Fish Tanks YouTube Channel. My channel is made for FISH TANK PEOPLE! I try to focus on planted aquariums, how to grow aquarium plants, dirt as the planted tank substrate and low light aquarium plants. Planted tanks shouldn't be difficult. it's amazing how many people get on here just to talk shit about how dirty his water is.you do realize that most freshwater lakes and rivers are not super clear water right? you people are so caught up with the visual appeal of something versus the natural established ecosystem. this is also coming from the people that probably cringe at the idea of swimming in water you can't see straight through. to many tools in this world. please go back to your chlorinated pools and leave the naturalist alone.

goatnad6970 I feel like the discolouration gives a tank character. I personal think it looks way better than a clear tank!

The glass is filthy and the water is dirty too. Maybe the secret to lush aquatic plants are filthy aquarium. Let's all try it. Don't clean your tank for months.

There's no way to get rid of all the words and I can't see the tank. Boo.

Soooo, you're lazy? Oooookay. Seems like you've got an algae bloom coming there. Anyhow, no duckweed for those growing jungle val. If you want to get rid of duckweed completely, plant jungle val.

If you run co2 you should be turning it off about an hour before lights turn off.  That's what timers are made for.  Then before the lights turn off you should have some air stones turn on and leave them on until about an hour before your lights turn on..  So then the air stones will be off and an hour before the lights turn on the co2 turns back on for the day.  That's why all of those home made set ups don't work.  You need to turn off the co2 at night because the plants takes in oxygen at night and releases co2 and reverses during the day.  That'[s why the rainforest does not give us oxygen to breath. It's all the organic material they create and goes into rivers and then the ocean and then the things in the ocean creates the oxygen for us to breath.  That's why if the oceans die, we die to.

Thoughts on liquid co2?
Mike Kollin
Anyone? I have a mild brown coating on some of my plants. Especially the Wisteria…  I stopped Dosing liquid fertilizer about 7 days ago… I have a course gravel type sand. Co2 only 1 bubble per 2 seconds or so… Plant lights, and feed my fish very little for a while now… and the nitrate is kind of low… The plants are growing and healthy but have this brown stuff…  Any idea what it is or how to get rid of it? Thanks!!

I just started doing more water changes and watching how much I feed them. And only add enough Nutrients for the plants... I had to figured out the balance... and only 6 1/2 hours light... all clean, clear and beautiful now...

I run co2 but at a very low level… Only 1 bubble per 3 seconds… some times I might bump it up to 1 every 2 seconds… that way you get some benefit without the problems…
