Paul Allen from the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) introducing the latest Zero Carbon Britain report at a community event held in Penrith, Cumbria on 18th November 2013.
The event was staged by Penrith Action for Community Transition (PACT) and Cumbria Action for Sustainability (CAfS), and was attended by approximately 100 people.
The Zero Carbon Britain project was formed at CAT in 2006 as a direct response to the challenges of climate change. The project integrates a wide range of detailed knowledge and experience from a spectrum of disciplines to show how we can rise to the climate challenge without relying on promises of future technology, but by using only that which exists now, ready to be implemented immediately. The aim is to inform, inspire and enable contemporary society to embrace the changes required to rethink the future.
