Elliot Gleave (born, 20 June 1983, London) , better known by his stage name Example, is an English singer and rapper signed to Data Records. His name arose due to his initials being e.g. which is a common abbreviation for the Latin phrase "exempli gratia", which means "for example".
Example stated in an interview on the The Graham Norton Show that it was a kid at school that gave him this nickname, he said that he didn't like the nickname at first, but it grew on him. "The name Example was given to me in the playground, and I didn't really like at first, but I didn't have a choice because he was probably gonna beat me up!, he said to me - "your initials are EG, you're gonna be called Example..." and I just nodded"
"Changed the Way You Kiss Me" was released on the 5 June 2011 and was his first no.1 hit - making it his most successful single since Kickstarts.
