Just two weeks ago, life along the Texas and Louisiana coast was much different. We were enjoying the dog days of summer, adjusting to the back-to-school routine and marveling how early the stores were putting up Halloween displays.

Then, Hurricane Harvey hit with a vengeance. Millions of people were impacted directly and indirectly. Everyone’s day-to-day comfortable routines were disrupted. Through loss and witnessing loss, we realized the surroundings of our privileged daily lives had become so entrenched, we took it for granted.

We watched continuous coverage on television as rising waters transformed the landscape of broad reaching areas from south Texas to Louisiana.

We are still dealing with high water making some major roadways and neighborhoods inaccessible.

We witnessed first-hand inspiring stories of real everyday people who became superheroes in an instant.

People asked for help and others stepped forward with help. There are millions of people in the storm’s path and just as many stories to share.

Watch this video of a LifeSmiles’ patient-friend who lost their home in the storm.

The LifeSmiles Team shares our deepest concern for our patient-friends, neighbors and fellow citizens. Every day we share The Gift of a LifeSmile.

The LifeSmiles Home did not suffer any direct physical loss.

We are open for business, but not as usual. We have a renewed spirit and connection with each of you. We’ve shared a devastating life experience together and emerged stronger than ever.

This world is filled with superheroes. Come be a part of that spirit with us.

So, many of you have offered help in many different forms (clothes, food, furniture, cash). We’ve been lucky enough to be the middle-person and connect people. If you are in need or have something to share with others, let us know. We’ve got a huge network of folks to introduce to each other. Call 713-592-9300 or email: john@lifesmiles.us

Harvey generated several folks in need of emergency care. We were able to see them right away. Let your friends and family know, if they have a dental need, we’ll take great care of them.
