Moving the projectile around in 3D space isn't hard but throwing it at a target takes some practice. I'm using a mobile phone displaying a white screen to communicate position to the webcam here but any diffuse white light source will do. A torch with a white plastic bag over it for example. The dimmer the light source the darker you need to make the room.
