Suggested MIG Shielding Gas Flow Rates. FREE technical paper available at www.NetWelding.com. This video defines why MIG gas flow must be limited to prevent turbulence that causes air to be pulled into the gas stream. It discusses the maximum drafts that can be tolerated and the flow rates that can be used to counter these drafts. It provides the typical minimums usable in production operations. It defines that many applications are using much more gas than needed and may be causing poorer weld results than if the flow rate was reduced.
