Six dead and four wounded in 24-hour gunfire outbreak in Philadelphia

Six people were shot to death and four more were wounded over the span of 24 hours in Philadelphia this weekend, beginning at around noon Saturday.

The first victim was a 26-year-old man; found shot to death in a basement on West Erie Avenue. On Sunday, detectives found another dead man at the same scene.

Shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday night, a 17-year-old was pronounced dead at THIS scene after he was shot in the head in the Girard Park section of South Philadelphia.

At about 2:30 a.m., a 20-year-old man was shot in the head in West Philadelphia and pronounced dead a short time later.

A 45-year-old woman died after she was shot multiple times while inside THIS SUV in Allegheny West just before 3 a.m.

Just before 4 a.m., a 35-year-old man died after he was shot in the neck at 16th Street and Hunting Park Avenue in Nicetown.

The remaining four shooting victims were reported in stable condition in area hospitals.
