On Thursday, March 8, 2018, at 10:30 a.m., in the Media Gallery at Toronto Police Headquarters, Detective Constable Alexandra Marks, of the TPS Sex Crimes Child Exploitation Section updated the media on additional charges laid in a Child Exploitation investigation.

Background: On Tuesday, January 9, 2018, members of the Toronto Police Service Child Exploitation Section executed a search warrant in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

- in 2012, a man was working at Toronto Western Hospital where he met a woman. The man then befriended the woman's child.

It is further alleged that:

- the man showed the child pornography

- the man sexually assaulted the child

- the man had inappropriate communications with the child

Terrence Noftall, 55, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:

1) Invitation to Sexual Touching
2) Sexual Interference
3) Sexual Assault
4) Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Child
5) Luring a Child Under 18
6) Attempt Make Child Pornography
7) Make Child Pornography
8) Breach of Prohibition Order (C.C. Section 161)

The investigation continued and more victims have come forward.

It is further alleged that:

- between 2000 and 2005, he sexually assaulted a child

- between 2005 and 2009, he befriended another child while vacationing at the Bee Happy Campground in Innisfill, Ontario

- he sexually assaulted the child

As a result, on Thursday, February 8, 2018 and Saturday, March 5, 2018, Terrence Noftall was charged with:

1) three counts of sexual interference
2) three counts of sexual assault

It is further alleged that:

- between 2016 and 2017, he used social media accounts to communicate with children

- he used Facebook under the name Terrence Lee Noftall

- he used Instagram under the username tnoftall, with a vanity name of Terrence N

- he accessed online child sexual abuse material

As a result, on Thursday, February 8, 2018, he was also charged with:

1) two counts of Breach of Prohibition Order (Criminal Code Section 161)
2) accessing Child Pornography

Terrence Noftall appeared in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Monday, March 5, 2018, at 10 a.m., room 301.
