Welcome to Homegrown Session Number 3. It's a new song. Wrote the song just before filming it ... so ... i don't even know where it came from...there's not even an official title for it yet. Might call it 'Things just won't settle down' (written by Rob Dokter (c) feb.27th 2011)
I just keep thinking about something my dear friend Panama Red once told me while we were on tour in France. 'It takes a certain kind of loneliness doing what we do, Doc'...'We musicians seem to be going around places and situations where we are likely to be hurt.' Guess you're right, guitar bum. Let's do some pickin' someday soon! The more i seem to be fighting for things to settle down here the more things flow away through my hands ... Let's do Cullman, Alabama together and have some good drinks to your birthday, bubba! *********************** NOTE added april 22nd, 2011: I turned the two titles around. 'Dogs in the Moonlight' is much better and catchier to be the headtitle. *********************** LYRICS to

She called me a farmer but i never owned no land. She called me hundreds of dirty names and to keep home my filthy hands.
Now i'm standin' here thinkin'. There's so much regrets to last. Hauntin' me ev'ry step of the way, when it all should be put to rest.
Now all i see is dogs in the moonlight, comin' in and out of the woods. Two dogs that knew me well back when life was good.
Now i'm standin' here and i'm thinkin'. There's too much regrets to last. Hauntin' me ev'ry step of my way when it should've been in the past.
But i never really left the island where the sun was beatin' down. Still workin' my head around it why things just won't settle down.
Yeah, i never really left the island where the sun was beatin' down. Still workin' my head around it where things should just quietly settle down.
Now all i see is them dogs in the moonlight comin' in and out of the woods. Two old dogs that seemed to know me well back when life was good. Yeah, two old dogs that seemed to know me well back when life was good.
