I know I hung on that windy tree
for nine whole days and nights
stabbed with a spear offered to Odin
given by my own birthright
High on Yggdrasil, whose roots twine with heaven
Starving with no drink nor food
I peered down, down into the darkness
screaming but all I was was all alone with these runes
And so It was I fell and learned Nine songs
as I drank this Mead
Full of wisdom and of words
I could now sow noble deeds
These runes, these things of might and power
created by Gods and by the great one formed
I died in humility and found this boon
and I died, and then again, I was reborn
