Javed Chaudhry - host of Kal Tak program in Pakistan - describes the horrific fate of a young girl whose poor parents could neither afford medication for her treatment nor a coffin for her burial upon death from untreated illness. He uses the true story to highlight: (a) the extreme injustice faced by the poor masses of Pakistan at the hands of a rich and indifferent ruling elite; (b) the lavish lifestyles and privileges enjoyed by government ministers and parliamentarians; (c) the misplaced budgetary priorities that result in constant failure to meet basic needs of the country's teeming poor; and (d) the entrenched corruption of prevailing governance and political culture that ensures zero accountability of public officials.
