More than 5,000 Michigan workers and families massed in front of and inside the the state capitol in Lansing on Wednesday (3-16-2001) to protest Gov. Rick Snyder and his Republican cronies passing of anti-worker legislation, including the so called "Emergency Manager Bill" This bill would allow the "King of Lansing" to appoint his cronies, (at a salary of over $177,000 after the Dems tried unsuccessfully to cap it at that amount with an amendment.), to remove elected officials of communities and school boards and also nullify union contracts with no checks or balances.
