For those of you who remember saying I'd post three videos in the month of April and/or those of you who noticed I never posted a Freestyle Friday in the beginning of May:

Before you rip my face off failing to keep my word yet another time, hear me out! I wasn't even thinking about how I'd be totally swamped with testing in May - SAT last Saturday, APUSH today, and Pre Calc final tomorrow. So I've been studying (but mostly procrastinating from studying) these past few weeks and I wasn't able to complete them in time. But believe me, I tried!

I must've taken billions of vocal recordings over the course of several days because I'm not as confident in my singing abilities, so I wanted it to be as perfect as possible. I'd record over and over, find my technical flaws, fix them, but by the time I got the technical parts the way I wanted them, the emotion was almost to completely gone, and my singing just sounded... forced? So I had to find the right number of takes that'd give me a balance between fixing enough of the technical problems with my singing while not sounding too emotionless, lol. Did it work?

And the er, video concept, I guess you could call it? I wasn't really planning on doing anything special with this, but the idea just popped into my head so I gave it a shot. It's my first try, and I'm not too sure how I feel about it, so I wanna know what you guys think!

And as for the piano arrangement - I learned it by ear but I can't make music sheets because I'm reaaally bad when it comes to that kind of thing, can barely read music for myself tbqh lol. Sorry!

As for the Freestyle Fridays - I tried freestyling to Sherlock, I really did! But I've just been so tired these days from school, practice, and staying up later than I should be more often than I should be, that when I tried taping it and watched it back, I was pretty disappointed with the takes. My tiredness showed, and the fact that the part I want to freestyle to is super long, and the thought of trying to come close to the awesomeness of the original choreography so not to disappoint, I really wasn't feeling it, at all. I was supposed to take the areas I need to work on in account too, but I couldn't even do that well enough. The purpose of Freestyle Friday is to watch my progress, find my weaknesses, and work on those for the next video, so it sort of defeats the purpose if I post a video of me dancing half-awake. Plus, that's no fun to watch; I can't let you guys suffer through that. Wouldn't it be better to wait for a good video instead?

And as for the month of June, I have SATIIs the first week of June, then finals for the next three weeks, so I'll be prepping for those instead of working on another Freestyle Friday, unfortunately. But! I'll be posting THREE Freestyle Fridays in a row to make up for it - one in the third week of June to make up for the one I missed in May, another in the fourth week of June to make up for the one I missed in the first week of June, and the third Freestyle Friday in the first week of July, putting myself back on track. Fair enough? I hope so, because that's the best offer I've got right now, lol. Let's hope I actually keep it this time!
