Teach your child how to read the old fashioned way ~ without having to buy one of those expensive reading systems!

I've just put some tips and ideas together on promoting reading in your household and starting to teach your 2 or 3 year old how to read. (I'm using these techniques with my 2 year old, but I suspect they could also be used with an older child and more advanced words/sentences as well.)

Before using the tricks that I show in the video, your child will need a foundation of being interested in the alphabet and recognizing all of the letters. Once they know their letters, they can move on to learning the word sounds. Once they are in stage, it is a great time to start putting words and short sentences together... then the sky is the limit!

My inexpensive method of starting to promote reading in your household can be done with pencil and paper if needed, and uses materials you may already have in your home!

** Please note I am not a professional teacher and this video is just meant to possible give you ideas on things you can do in your own home and show what we've been doing to help our daughter read. I am the daughter of two educators/teachers, so learning was always very important in our household and was instilled in me at a very early age... I am also a former dance instructor and have over a decade's worth of experience in teaching children creative movement. So while I do not have a formal teaching degree, I base my techniques to teach my children on that experience as well.

Hope this may be helpful to you! Thanks for watching!
