The Third Wave was a classroom experiment by a young teacher Mr. Ron Jones in the early spring of 1967. What began as a role-playing to look inside Fascism went out of control, and the experiment lasted only 5-8 school days. A documentary was made about The Third Wave, named Lesson Plan.
On February 12th, Mark Hancock, who is the associate producer of Lesson Plan and one of the original Third Wave students, visited UVic for the screening of Lesson Plan and a thought-provoking conversation about ethics.
The event was attended by students from Reynolds Secondary School, Victoria High School, and Mt. Douglas Secondary School. It was sponsored by Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies and European Union through the EU Centre of Excellence Grant.
