Very good news for Ekaterina Osmolkina fans. Osmolkina, who is back from maternity leave, is in great form, what she proved as Giannina in Ondine and Masha in Nutcracker, roles which she danced in past month, and will prove in Giselle with Andrian Fadeyev on July 3 and in Fountain of Bakchisarai, which she will do two times, July 16 and July 27.

May and June Don Quixote debuts were successful. Valeria Martynyuk, who danced with Alexei Timofeyev, was natural Kitri and if she had chance to dance it again she will prove that she can compete with Natalia Osipova in the title of The Best Kitri of XXI century.
Filipp Stepin was natural Basil. His Kitri Elena Evseeva was good match to him, unfortunately injury prevented her from dancing Syumbike in Shurale few days after DQ success.

June brings a lot of Balanchine. The Balanchine Trust has sent Colleen Neary, former New York city ballerina, to coach the Mariinsky in a few of their Balanchine pieces, as is directed by the Trust to preserve the purity of the Balanchien choreography. Fateyev, whose favorite choreographer is Balanchine, participates in every single rehearsal under the watchful eye of Colleen Neary.

Though this season brought a lot of Balanchine, what is nice, it unfortunately didn't bring any Raymonda and only two Giselle. Also Sleeping Beauty was rare in this season.

Today (June 18) and in two following days one of the strongest ever Vaganova graduating girls will dance on the Mariinsky stage, with two future stars, Olga Smirnova and Kristina Shapran featured as Nikiya in Kingdom of the Shades. Olga Smirnova could be made a star sooner than anyone expected since she already danced on Ulanova Gala in London this year with many stars, like like Uliana Lopatkina and Svetlana Zakharova.

July cast:

Anastasia Kolegova will dance Gamzatti to Alina Somova Nikiya July 2
Kolegova will also do Medora (debut) in Corsaire July 21, with Elizaveta Cheprasova as Gulnara, Konstantin Zverev as Conrad and Andrei Batalov as Ali.

Osmolkina's Giselle has one debut - 2010 graduate Alexei Popov in peasant pas de deux with Elizaveta Cheprasova.
- principal Viktoria Tereshkina and Vladimir Shklyarov will do Balanchine's Ballet Imperial July 23
