LUDHIANA / Chandigarh : National unit of BJP Kisan Morcha is all set to oppose the seed ordinance bill 2004 in Rajya sabha in the interest of the farmers of the country under the worty Leadership of Hon' ble Sh. Op Dhankar Ji, Our BJP Kisan Morcha National President.
Interacting with media persons at Mullanpur, Raman Banquet Hall, Mullanpur Sunday the National Secretary BJP Kisan Morcha and Incharge Jammu and Kashmir Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that if this ordinance passes in the Rajaya sabha than the control on seeds of every crop would go into the hands of the Multinational Companies. He informed that the amended ordinance was presented in Rajya sabha recently and added that though the Congress led UPA Government was not in the majority in the Rajya sabha but it was trying to get the ordinance passed.
He informed that National President of BJP Kisan morcha Sh. Op Dhankar had organized an interstate debate on the ordinance on 19th November at Gurgaon in Haryana in which experts were also invited, in which it was resolved unanimously the ordinance was against in the interest of the farmers of the country.
Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal also said that if seed control goes into the hands of the multination companies than automatically the companies would control the production of crops in the country. National Secretary of the BJP Kisan Morcha also asserted that this bill would also put a question mark on the quality of seeds. National secretary said that at present morcha was awaking the people of the country if needed than a agitation would be launched against the seed ordinance bill. He also demanded criminal proceedings against those seed producing companies, which provides poor quality seed to farmers.
