Patrik Schumacher from Zaha Hadid architects looks at the inspiration behind the design of the new gallery at the Science Museum. Inspired by the Handley Page aircraft, the gallery is laid out using principles of mathematics & physics. These principles also inform the three-dimensional curved surfaces representing the patterns of airflow that would have streamed around this aircraft.
