Sydney Retro Cinema and Holly Star Australia present....
BEATLES FOREVER! ------FATHERS DAY SUNDAY SPECTACULAR------
SUNDAY SEPT. 2ND 2012 | 2:00PM | HAYDEN ORHPEUM CREMORNE FT. "THE BEATELS" LIVE ON STAGE + FILM SCREENING "IMAGINE: JOHN LENNON"
In the 3 decades since John Lennon was assassinated, he's gone from just a simple musician from Liverpool with a series of bad haircuts and worse glasses to something larger than life. A true rock and roll legend. A peaceful warrior battling through Vietnams, Kent State Massacres and Jonestown cults. But people today tend to get lost in the mythology. They can't see him anymore in the same way they see Paul and (to a far lesser extent) Ringo. By being taken from the world so early, he became so much more than a man. People forget that he was just that, a man. And more importantly, he was a father to his two beautiful boys, Sean and Julian. Join Sydney Retro Cinema this upcoming Sunday, September 2nd for "Beatles Forever: Father's Day Sunday Spectacular". We're calling all Fathers, Grandfathers, Sons, Daughters, Mothers and ANY Beatles fan (and really, who of you out there is not?!) to join us at THE HAYDEN ORPHEUM PICTURE PALACE in Cremorne for a celebration of Fathers everywhere and a tribute to the greatest rock and roll group of all time, the band that changed the world -- The Beatles!
Starting at 2:00pm, enjoy a set by celebrated tribute band "The Beatels", followed by a screening of the classic 1988 rock documentary "Imagine: John Lennon". This intospective evolves around the nearly 240 hours of film and videotape fortuitously taken by Lennon of his life. The archive footage is transformed into a fascinating life story of one of the most complex and fascinating men of the modern music era. This effort includes a 36 song soundtrack. Includes some very personal and insightful footage, that had never before made available to the public.
This Father's Day, forget the ties and tube socks, give Dad something he'll really love, a great day of great music, great family, and great fun. Book your tickets today!
