Plants are everywhere around us. They are an essential part of our life. But do you know about plants? Can you name the parts of a plant? How does a plant become a tree? Have you ever wondered about it. Lets learn about it with this rhyme.

I'm a little sapling,
Oh, so small
In Years ahead,
I'll grow so tall.
With a lot of water,
Sun and day.
I will soon be way up there,
Deep inside the soil.
My roots are found
Drink,drink the water
Under ground.
Water from the roots,
My trunk receives.
Then my trunk starts making leaves
As I start to climb the altitude,
Leaves on my branches,
Will make our food.
Soon my trunk and branches will grow wide,
And I will grow more outside.
I will be a tree, very tall
Loosing my leaves when it is cold,
When it is spring new leaves will show,
How do trees grow,
Now you know!

Children are adorable and so is childhood. It is the most beautiful part of all life's seasons. India celebrates this joy of childhood as Children's Day on 14th November every year, which marks the birth anniversary of the first Prime Minister of India - Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Lovingly called 'Chacha Nehru', he gave emphasis to the significance of giving love and affection to children, who are the bright future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. Encouraging the welfare of children all over the country, Kids Edge wishes every beautiful child of India a very Happy Children's Day!
