In national award winning playwright Mahonri Stewart's _A Roof Overhead_, the play explores the conflict between secular and religious cultures. When atheist Sam Forest moves into the basement of the Fieldings, a family of Mormons, bad blood is created on both sides as personal prejudices and cultural blind spots ratchet up the tension. The American culture wars are boiled down to a microcosmic, but increasingly explosive conflict which have personal consequences for all the characters involved. With a divide so wide, can common ground ever be found?
