Jack Thompson AM presents a short documentary dealing with the hidden crisis of wasted potential with 16% of Australian teenagers not in full time education or work. More Australians leave school at 16 than in most other OECD countries. He introduces the school engagement program, Hands On Learning, the hook that that has kept hundreds of students at school. Early school leaving costs Australia over $2.6 Billion each year, so it's time to give schools dedicated funding so they can all run programs like Hands On Learning that we know work, to prevent kids dropping out of school and missing out on an education that holds the key to their successful futures.
