Description:
This is a great attacking move used to get by a defender. It's a popular move for wingers.

Key Points:
1. Jump with both feet. Bring non dominant foot in front of ball. Your dominant foot goes out to the side. Both come down at the same time. Your non dominant acts as shield between the defender and the ball. Your dominant foot will push the ball forward past the defender.

2. Angle your dominant foot. Angle your dominant foot at a 45 degree angle so it pushes the ball going forward, not sideways.

3. Use the Ronaldo Chop when you are running at speed and a defender is coming at you from angle or straight on. This move doesn't work great from a standing position because it's easy for a defender to read and keep pace with you. When a defender is running at you and you Ronaldo Chop quick and you will create more time and space because they are going one way and you are going the other.

4. Change Pace! The most important part of any move is changing pace! Go fast after you do the Ronaldo Chop.

Equipment Needed: A ball and three cones.

Exercise Player Can Do:
Practice the Ronaldo Chop without the ball first. Get us to how your body will feel doing this move. Then try it from a stand still with the ball.

Once you are ready to do it on the run set up a start cone with a defender cone, 10 yards ahead at an angle. Then place the third cone 10 yards ahead at an angle. Dribble to the 2nd cone, Ronaldo Chop at the imaginary defender, then accelerate to the third cone. Light jog back. Repeat 7 times. Rest and repeat sets until you are tired or master it.

What Player Could Be Doing Wrong:
If you are going sideways after you Ronaldo Chop and not moving up the field your dominant foot is angled sideways. Make sure you angle your foot to push the ball forward up the field. Think of it like a pass.

Bonus Tips!
The Ronaldo Chop takes confidence! Believe you will execute it in the game 100 percent in your mind when you go for it! Don't doubt yourself! If you lose the ball so what, just react positive and hustle back on defense.

Do the Ronaldo Chop in the attacking third, not in your defensive third.
