Every educator plays an important role in the success of our students in Denver Public Schools.

An emerging DPS teacher leadership program called Teacher Leadership and Collaboration - or TLC - is redistributing leadership duties within many schools. Whereas principals traditionally provided most performance feedback to teachers, TLC redistributes observations with Senior Team Leads. These master teachers provide feedback and coaching throughout the year, which helps them to grow as leaders while still keeping their role as teachers.

For principals, it means more support, stronger teams and a greater ability to both interact with families and influence larger school culture initiatives.

Watch our DPS Features video, which features two school leaders - High Tech Elementary School Principal Dr. Amy Gile and Denver North High School Principal Scott Wolf - who explain how TLC is impacting their school communities in a meaningful way.
