God answers prayers...so why aren't you experiencing a blessing?
We have learned how to ask from God, but have we learned how to receive. Although that may sound ridiculous.. how many times have we risen from our knees unfulfilled, or closed the Bible without being filled with hope. Learn how to receive from God with confidence.

Art of Receiving
Isn't it amazing that when Jesus did his miracle there were two thoughts happening. One was "Son of David have mercy on me" and the other was "let's kill him". Isn't it absolutely amazing that some people could be hearing his teachings and weeping, pouring precious perfume on him and washing his feet because of the teachings? And someone else was trying to throw him off a mountain. The same message was received with different ears.
So let's open this lesson: Which Ears are We Today? I don't' think anyone here wants to kill Jesus, but The Word can go out and we can miss it. Or The Word can go out and we can bear it a hundred fold. I don't know about you, but I could use some hundred fold fruit. Amen?
God Answers Prayers
Peter's Miraculous Escape From Prison
12 It was about this time that King Herod arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to persecute them. 2 He had James, the brother of John, put to death with the sword. 3 When he saw that this met with approval among the Jews, he proceeded to seize Peter also. This happened during the Festival of Unleavened Bread. 4 After arresting him, he put him in prison, handing him over to be guarded by four squads of four soldiers each. Herod intended to bring him out for public trial after the Passover.
Now what happens is that an angel appears to Peter and he is miraculously escorted by this angel out of prison. The gate opens up before him and it is just fantastic.
11 Then Peter came to himself and said, "Now I know without a doubt that the Lord has sent his angel and rescued me from Herod's clutches and from everything the Jewish people were hoping would happen."
12 When this had dawned on him, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, also called Mark, where many people had gathered and were praying.
What were the people doing? They were praying. Peter had been arrested and they were gathered together praying for a miracle, praying for God to answer the prayer and set Peter free.
13 Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door. 14 When she recognized Peter's voice, she was so overjoyed she ran back without opening it and exclaimed, "Peter is at the door!"
Now listen to what the people say to this miracle of Peter being at the door. Do they praise God, knowing that he came through for them?
15 "You're out of your mind," they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, "It must be his angel."
Were they praying for Peter to be set free? Yes! But were they ready to receive the prayer that Peter was actually going to be set free? No
God Answers Prayers -- It is Us Who Often Refuse to Receive
Let's think about our prayers: How often do we pray and we ask God, we beg, we plead...and if he was physically here we would be hanging on his pants saying "Please, Jesus!" -- without the thought that we will actually get what we are praying for. We don't believe God answers prayers!
Peter's people said "you are out of your mind". It was so far removed from them that Peter was actually going to be set free, right then while they were praying. Do you see that?
So that is why we are talking about the Art of Receiving. Many times we are begging God so much and he is wating to give it to us. We haven't learned to just receive.
Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
We have given every Spiritual blessing, so how on earth are we not experiencing that?
How do trick somebody (without stealing) that something is not theirs? Because that is how we are experiencing our full blessing.
The devil uses condemnation and discouragement as one of his major weapons to stop us from getting what is rightfully ours. It stops us from receiving.
Condemnation is the feeling we get that we are worthy, that we are not good enough. -- that we have not done the right things for God to bless us. We not deserve it. Have you ever felt that way?
Am I saying that no matter what you have done in your life, God is there for you? Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing -- that's some good stuff. Receive with confidence.
