This one-hour video documentary will explore the history of the city and its founding, the role of the early businesses, J. Irwin Miller and Cummins Engine, the notable architecture, connections to Camp Atterbury, its past and present industries, the Regional Hospital, everyday and famous people, important landmarks, thearts, festivals and culture, ending with a peak at its future. This documentary snapshot highlights the unique "spirit" of the community that makes Columbus such a special place to live.

Shot in High-Definition wide-screen video, a script-writer will ensure smooth and seamless story lines and transitions. Through ample interviews with leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, artists, and everyday citizens, our producer will embark on a quest to discover and examine the many interesting facets of Columbus. Facility tours, many edited interviews with historic and community representatives, a few long time standing family businesses, landmarks, community events, and some of the community's annual celebrations will be included.

The finished documentary will be aired locally and will be made available for broadcast by Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations statewide. A companion DVD with additional bonus footage will be available for purchase through WTIU's website.
