How we are being conned: Inequality, Taxation and Corporations.

Our Prime Minister (David Cameron) has been saying inequality is back down to 1986 levels - with the backing of the Office for National Statistics. But this is a lie - inequality has been getting much worse over these years - surely the PM and ONS must know this?

Since then the rich have been increasing income by compound rises of up to 30% year on year and the poor have had income cut or held down - and the poorest have to use food banks.

I analysed and tested the Gini coefficient (which ONS use to measure inequality) and found out it is a scam. I contacted the ONS but their reply was dismissive of my concerns - hence this video.

The Gini coefficient is about as much use as a chocolate teapot for measuring inequality.

For example: a dictatorship with one boss having 100 times the income of a worker can have better equality than a cooperative with six times income differential using the Gini Index. Also this cooperative with fairer distribution of six times income differential has the same inequality as the UK (32.3) – when we know inequality here is worse than that.

The method uses frequency distribution to hide the widening gap between the privileged wealthy and the millions of poor families. Like other methods (e.g. S80/S20 ratio) it does not measure how inequality between the richest and poorest is widening. I use the analogy of measuring inequality with a rubber band in my video.

It is useless for comparing inequality of poor to rich or for comparing inequality of one country to another. This is fact and not opinion - as can be easily seen in this chart:

At best it only compares the poor to the average income - a much lower standard - not poor to rich.

Also I explain how it is those with poor to average income being squeezed with taxation - not the rich. You are left with little or nothing after essential bills and tax.

Finally, the government could easily make the crooks running the corporations and banks responsible for their actions - why don't they?

Please do not judge this video on my orator skills - or the special effects when I morph into my younger self, which is so poor I deliberately made it worse. Just look at the information within to see how I can be wrong about it.

Unfortunately my health has not been too good and I haven't been able to concentrate much on my first effort - I know it could be a lot better presentationally. Sorry, it is the best I can do under the circumstances.
