Early 1950s glow ingnition model aircraft engine first run for several years . Using the original NGK MINIGLOW glow plug initially then subtituting a Taylor standard 1.5v plug. There was no need to use on electric starter , not that I would on this type of engine. A prime in the inlet and exhaust, then a couple of good flick soom got the motor firing. A bit of adjustment of the needle valve soon had the motor running smoothly. when it was running good decided to finish the "test" as I didn't want to upset the neighbours. It was a bit loud without any silencer! But thats what they were like when I was a lad. No chicken finger either , no need if you sand away the sharp edges when you balance the props.
