What is this you might ask? Well this is the Star Trek intro, remade with a live model instead of a CG one. Everything is done in such a way that it imitates the way they made effects in the old days! Viva la TMP warp!
I picked up this model at a convention a cuple of weeks ago, it's the Corgi Star Trek 40th Aniversary Die Cast Enterprise model. I was amazed by the amount of detail this small model acctually had. So i whiped out my Canon HV20 and placed the model infront of a greenscreen and started fooling around with different camera movements etc. Since the model is really small i could really make it look like it was traveling far distances. I'm sorry about the shakyness of the model in some places... you see, the model's saucer section is about the size of my thumb. So a milimeter shakyness in real life equals a lot of shakyness in the video.
There is alot to say about the effects, all of them are done with Adobe After Effects and tries their best to mimic the effects from the orginal shows and movies.
The music is of course the Original intro music. Though taken from the "Suite - The Menagerie" from the Symphonic Star Trek by Erich Kunzel & Cincinnati Pops Orchestra
