71000 Duke of Gloucester heads the Diamond Jubilee Express from Poole to Windsor and return. At Shawford it approaches on the goods loop and accelerates through the station. It's a different story at Eastleigh eleven hours later, as a Freightliner is slowly easing out onto the running line. Service trains pass before the freight is sent on it's way and the signal is still at danger as the Duke approaches - spot on time at 20.44. There's a touch on the whistle for the amber, but no increase in speed..
