Adrian Boswood, Professor of Veterinary Cardiology at the Royal Veterinary College describes the EPIC project - Evaluation of Pimobendan in Cardiomegaly. This international project, led by the RVC and funded by Boehringer has looked at the efficacy of administering pimobendan to dogs with enlarged hearts (cardiomegaly) to see if it delayed the onset of heart disease.
