Over the past month, the related issues of self-censorship and political interference in the mainstream media industry has been receiving much debate in the social media, prompting a number of public protests and flash mobs.

We speak with former RTM TV2 producer Chou Z Lam, who was sacked on May 13 2010, after two out of his 10-episode documentary series on the Bakun Dam was taken off the air in the lead up to the recent Sibu by-election. He reveals the events leading up to his sacking, as well as some of the key findings of his documentary.

Chou Z Lam was until recently the producer for 'Galeri Mandarin Nasional', a Chinese language documentary series on RTM TV2. He is part of the 528 Tak Nak Potong movement against self-censorship and political interference in the media industry.
