Factorability tests have been added to the Principal Components and Factor Analysis procedures. The tests include the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) measure of sampling adequacy and Bartlett’s test of sphericity. Both tests are used to determine whether or not it’s likely to be worthwhile extracting factors from a set of variables.
