I'm Kevin Bains. I'm the operations manager and we're here in Boulder, CO at the Boulder Rock Club. We've got a lot of different climbers, a lot of alpinists here, people looking for really painful, hard, deep workouts, interval based, and one of the guys who's an alpinist was looking for a way to incorporate endurance and resistance climbing with TRUBLUE So he was asking for some ideas and that's where we came up with the idea of doing interval training utilizing TRUBLUEs The core is based around starting on an exercise bike and doing a 2 minute about 90% effort sprint drill So that gets your heart rate up really fast Our cardio deck is above a slide so you slide down, you immediately jump on a TRUBLUE and you do 4 laps Immediately when you hit the ground you have to start back up again, so having a partner standing by waiting for a top rope tying in, lowering down, using a blade None of that stuff works at a level to keep up and the TRUBLUE can keep up with you. When you really stress and you're on your third or fourth set, and then doing 4 more laps, you find that you're climbing actually improves and you start using a lot more technical skill than just grabbing a hold So when you're outdoors climbing and you're looking at that crux and you're already pumped, this gives you that ability to just keep climbing through it because you've already done something that was way worse by doing this interval training. And then after that, we usually do something like core like leg lifts. Exercise you can just go straight to burpees, kick throughs, some other exercise that uses major muscle groups and also working on your endurance and heart rate. Hi I'm Kevin of the Boulder Rock Club, and this is how we TRUBLUE!
