This video is intended for novice users interested in building a Hackintosh, and is not intended for seasoned users. For those of you that are new to the Hackintosh community, basically you will be building a custom PC with very specific parts (see list below) and installing Apple's OS X operating system utilizing Tonymacx86 & Mac Man’s UniBeast installation tool. UniBeast 5 (the version used for this tutorial) utilizes the Chimera bootloader and supports OS X Lion, Mountain Lion, Mavericks and Yosemite. Chimera much like the Chameleon bootloader are older methods, but very effective in installing OS X on PC hardware. In addition, you will then use MultiBeast as a post installation tool to set up the required drivers, kext files and boot configurations necessary to operate OS X on a PC. This build features the Gigabyte GA-X99P-SLI motherboard, but does not require the X99 kernel patch (a special line of code entered in terminal) like other motherboards with the same chipset. It is also important to note that this build features the Gigabyte GeForce GTX970 NVIDIA graphics card, which can be a bit difficult to use when initially setting up a Hackintosh. This tutorial contains very specific details regarding the GTX970 graphics card and if followed correctly it should work without any problems. It is also important to note that this build is fully functional as a Windows 10 machine, however there are two minor issues on the OS X Yosemite side. The Realtek ALC1150 onboard audio is not working at this time. Fortunately I have a firewire audio interface, so this is not a deal breaker for me personally. Secondly, iMessages is not working, but I hope to resolve this soon utilizing a fix with Clover (a different boot loader and set post installation tools). Other than these two minor issues this is a fully functional Hackintosh with access to the APP store, iTunes, notes, Apple mail, etc. Please note that it is technically frowned upon to install OS X on non-Apple hardware, therefore I recommend that you use your machine for personal use and do not attempt to build a machine(s) and sell them on sites like Ebay or Craigslist. I would also like to recommend that you purchase the software you use. Just because this is a Hackintosh, does not mean you should use cracked or bootleg software. Enjoy and happy building!
