This episode covers the Gaura Arati and the evening Nrsimha prayers.
The Gaura arati is written by Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura with the first words "jaya jaya gauracander aratiko sobha." This is typically sung during the evening arati.
Mridanga playing for the arati is unique in that there are multiple stopping points. In addition, this song has alankars (two lined refrains) in the middle of the lyrics in which one may opt to change from kaherva/drut kaherva tala to drut dadra tala prakar 2A/2B/2C.
Following the Gaura Arati is the minor key tune of the Nrsimha pranam. Please refer to Lesson 26 on the details of accompanying the Nrsimha pranam.
