Bombay Karachi halwa will surely awaken your taste buds. It tastes much different from rest of the halwa. Prepared with desi ghee and dry fruits this halwa appears to be spongy like rubber in texture, with this it is also named as rubber halwa. This special type of Sindhi halwa is twinkling in appearance and tasty in taste. Be patient while preparing this halwa.

Ingredients:
Corn flour - 1 cup (100 grams)
Sugar - 2 cup (450 grams)
Cashew nuts - ½ cup (chopped into small pieces)
Pistachios - 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
Tartaric Acid - ¼ tsp powder (equal to size of 2 peas)
Green cardamoms - 4-5 (peel and make powder)

How to make Bombay Halwa - Karachi Halwa
We will use 400 grams (2 cups) of water for making this halwa. Take little amount of water and dissolve corn flour into it. Make sure all lumps get dissolved. Now add 1 ¼ cup water into it. Take sugar in a pan and add ¾ cup water into it. Cook until sugar melts and syrup gets ready.

Add corn flour batter in syrup now. Bring the flame to minimum and cook by stirring constantly. Within 10-12 minutes batter will get thick in consistency. Keep stirring it constantly and cook on low flame. Steadily halwa will start appearing transparent. Now add half amount of ghee and keep cooking. Add rest of the ghee with help of spoons at regular intervals and cook until all ghee gets absorbed.

When Bombay Karachi halwa appears shiny; add color into it and cook nicely. Add cashews and cardamom powder as well. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until it gets thick consistency.

Bombay Karachi halwa is ready. Pour it in any tray or plate and allow it to set. Spread some cashews on top and press with help of spoon. After it gets bit cool; cut into pieces as per your choice.

Serve it now or store it in airtight container and enjoy eating. Karachi halwa has long shelf life. There is no need to place it in refrigerator.

Suggestion: Cook Bombay Karachi halwa really well as it will not taste good and will not appear spongy like rubber. If you think Bombay Karachi halwa is still uncooked then add1 tsp ghee in a pan and cook more. When you feel it's cooked set it in a tray then. Don't cook Bombay Karachi halwa on high flame else it can get hard.
