A man in a wheelchair was assaulted by police as he tried to stop British Transport Police officer 4125 hitting a female and a male cyclist. The officer's colleague, a police medic, also beat back the crowds with her extendable baton. A burst of pepper spray was released by one of the two officers. The disabled man, in his late fifties, was later arrested. The incident happened at the south end of Blackfriars Bridge on a monthly cycle-safety demonstration called Critical Mass.
