Now -- August 2012 The Consulate General of Mexico in Denver and the Mexican Cultural Center, in collaboration with the Museum of Popular Art in Mexico City, DIA and Denver Public Schools (DPS) worked together to literally roll this stunning exhibition into Jeppesen Terminal. The Vochol ® is a Volkswagen Beetle that has been covered with the traditional beadwork of the Huichol, an indigenous culture from Mexico. This piece of magnificent ancestral folk art is covered in more than two million glass beads, which eight Huichol artisans applied by hand. The exhibition is making its first appearance outside of a museum and has quickly become a must-see for visitors to DIA. For more information on the installation, visit www.vocholdenver.com.
