Here's an easy way to rig a swimming Gar, use 80 - 120 pound wire leader for Spanish (King) mackerel, as they'll easily bite you off. Always use Fresh and the biggest Gar Ballyhoo you can get your hands on when trolling. This rig is so easy and enable you to rebait quickly and get the line and Gar back trolling and fishing ASAP. This rig uses a Red/white skirt which is a deadly combination on Spanish Mackerel and should have in every tackle box. Especially when Mackerel are on a hot bite. Always great fun and well worth running some baits such as Gar Ballyhoo, wolf herring, tailor etc for pelagics. You should be able to get lead keels form your local fishing shop and well worth investing in. Subscribe for more fishing tips, and action.
Cheers Greg
