Grinnell College recognizes Lindsay Stradley and Ani Vallabhaneni, co-founders of Sanergy -- http://saner.gy/ -- with the 2014 Grinnell Prize -- http://www.grinnell.edu/grinnellprize

Sanergy builds and franchises Fresh Life hygienic toilets that improve sanitation and public health, create jobs and convert waste into organic fertilizer in Nairobi, Kenya. Since 2011, Sanergy has hired 163 local employees, expanded the Fresh Life network to more than 461 toilets, which are franchised to 240 local entrepreneurs, providing more than 19,000 Nairobi residents with access to hygienic sanitation.

The largest prize for social justice awarded by a college, the Grinnell Prize is presented annually to leaders under 40 who have devised innovative ways to advance positive social change.
