In May of 1981, a sinkhole opened up in Winter Park, Florida at the corner of Fairbanks Ave and Denning Dr, swallowing a two-story house, part of a Porsche dealership, and an olympic swimming pool. My father, James Ivey, was flying some press people and fire department personnel, and this video was shot by Paul Schiemer, and portions of this footage was used in news reports. The sinkhole is now known as Lake Rose, and the Wine Warehouse sits where the dealership did. For those of you who know the area, there's a shot at the end of a very small Winter Park Mall.
