In this first video of a series on making two similar display cabinets using red oak wood from my client's own tree, Andy takes us from unloading the solar kiln through making the frame and panel tops and bottoms of the cabinets. Techniques include bandsawing, jointing, and planing to square up the stock, using the router table and shaper to cut tongue and groove joints on the frames and panels, using the Domino machine to cut floating mortise and tenon joints, using the SawStop table saw to under bevel the top edges, and finishing the pieces with shellac polish.

These woodworking videos show how Andrew Pitts makes his fine custom furniture in his woodworking workshop in Virginia. He also often demonstrates new uses for his ShopBot Desktop CNC routing machine, and has included other useful videos such as how to photograph furniture.
