In part one of this series, we check out "The Art of Splatoon" exhibit in the Nintendo World Store in NYC. This section includes behind-the-scenes info on the early origins of the game, where the characters were meant to be rabbits instead of squids, and a look at what inspired the creators to go with the idea of that aquatic invertebrate. Plus, early production art of the characters that Splatoon players know and love.
The Nintendo World Store is the flagship store for the Video Game company by the same name. Located at 10 Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan, the two-floor store features merchandise to buy, games to play, and plenty of history to look at.
