Filmed for Scott W. Santoro's textbook, Guide to Graphic Design 1e, this video series features an in-depth look into the lives and work of 12 prominent graphic design professionals. Each film was shot and edited by the late Hillman Curtis, a pioneer of design and video for the web, and were created to support the text in its goal of guiding students as they hone their talent as designers and discover their creative potential. In this video, Paul Sahre talks about discovering the field of graphic design, the importance of formal and conceptual communication, and both the challenges and opportunities of designing for print in an increasingly digital world.
