A screen version of the complete mysteries, paradoxes and anxieties of Chekhov's story, which can rightfully be called the most pessimistic, and the most life-affirming of his work.

In the center of the plot is a story based on real events of the head physician of a psychiatric hospital who turned out to be her patient. Doctor Andrei Efimovich Ragin with his loneliness, alienation, reflection is one of the key figures not only of Chekhov's art, but of all the world literature of the 20th century.
The script of the film is based on the story. Retaining its storyline basis, the authors deliberately moved the action at the present time.
The picture is entirely taken off in a real clinic for the mentally ill in an innovative, semi-documentary manner.
