South African Music video director Ian Gabriel and punk icon Malcolm Maclaren spent 24 hours on the road shooting this epic video that introduced unexpected images of Soweto to the world in the mid eighties. Never properly video finished ( the tape splices can still be seen on this version ) the video nevertheless won Silver at the New York Film and Video Fest but was never been screened on TV in South Africa where Maclaren and the crew visiting Soweto without a permit was deemed a crime until the 90s.
