In this episode of Stanford Health Care's Your Health, Stanford cardiologist Dr. Dipanjan Banerjee discusses the Left Ventricular Assist Device (also called LVAD). LVAD was originally used as a bridge-to-transplant device, but patients have been doing so well that the need for a heart transplant may be reduced among this patient population.
