Just to give you an idea of how unknown and unappreciated the National Monument to the Forefathers is - our family and extended family live about 30 miles away in surrounding towns, and none of us knew about this until we watched the movie.  Also, last year there was a big, 3-day-long celebration/educational event throughout Plymouth in celebration of the 125th anniversary of it, and we STILL didn't know about that!  Been to Plymouth Plantation, Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower, etc.. MANY times throughout my life, and never ever knew the monument existed.

Crawford. The slavery began in Britain with the tyranny of the crown. If you want to talk slavery let's look at "White" slavery. The Irish, when shipped to these shores under English rule were treated worse than black, their lands taken and stolen and even higher rates than the native Americans. Yes, the devil is in the details. You may want to put aside your rhetoric and check the details, you know that factual ones, not the revisionist version which is being tube fed into ignorant minds on college campuses around the country.

Yeah, let's go back to slavery, where only white landowners vote, where the poor get cast into the gutters and stepped upon. Let's go back to the greedy landbarons who destroyed whole ecosystems to enrich themselves freely and made sure there were no safety rules, who built their empires upon the dead, broken bodies of the workers they discarded when they were done using them up. This is some deep manure put out by someone who wants to erase any progress that this country has made in the past 240 years. Rome endured for thousands of years. Don't compare us to Rome. You'd be more accurate to compare us to Britain. We are making the same stupid mistakes every empire eventually makes. Stupid to think that any of this crap will make one whit of difference. Hegemony and colonialism and empire building is what destroys countries. Look at the historical record and it is evident. This is nothing more than overly simplistic base propaganda for weak minds and puffed up egos. This is rubbish!

I watched this movie because I missed class and it said simply "Monumental Movie" on the syllabus. I was pretty upset about the whole thing. I couldn't understand why my professor would have us watch such a worthless film. It is stupidity wrapped in ignorance, served with a side-dish of arrogance. Long story short, I was supposed to watch "Monumental: David Brower's Fight For Wild America." LMFAO!! When I told my teacher he laughed as hard as I did... oohhhh America, you wear so many hats.
